Ilkeston - Victoria Park on St David's Day, 01 March 2002
w/e 03 March 2002

Pedestrians and drivers alike cannot have failed to notice this week, the colourful displays in Victoria Park Ilkeston where it fronts Bristol Road.
Fallen leaves from last Autumn are apparent in this ground level shot but the purples, yellows and whites of the flowers are the features that really catch the eye.
Recent high winds have brought many twigs and small branches down from the trees to lie among the crocus carpet.
Blossom on a purple leaved plum tree is also doing its bit to brighten the spirits as Spring approaches.
And being St David's Day it is only right that I include this image of some daffodils still in bud but they too will soon be adding more colour to the park.
Final shot for this week is my attempt at being artistic - the bark and a knot hole in a silver birch tree against a soft focus parkland backdrop. OK some you win and some you lose, I'll let you make your own minds up about this one.
