Ilkeston - 'Saints'
w/e 24 May 2026
All of this week's pictures were taken with a Nikon D3300 camera.

The theme for this selection of images is 'Saints' as all, whether building or road, have 'Saint' in their name.

St Andrew's Drive

The United Reformed Church can be accessed from the far end of St Andrew's Drive but is hidden here behind the trees on the left.
St Andrew's Church

The main entrance to St Andrew's Church (also known as Ilkeston Methodist Church) however, seen here from Bath Street, is on Wilmot Street.
St Mary Street

St Mary's Court (inset) off St Mary Street is also off the top of Bath Street and the Lower Market Place.
St Mary's Church

And St Mary's Church can also be seen from the Lower Market Place although at this time of year you have to be in the right position to see between the leaf covered trees.
St Thomas's Church

Another church, this one dedicated to Our Lady and St Thomas of Hereford, stands on the corner of Nottingham Road and Regent Street. Usually photographed from the former it is seen here from the latter.
St James Avenue

St James Avenue runs between Greenwood Avenue and this vantage point on St John's Road.
St John's Road

This is the view of St John's Road from the Green Lane end before it drops down and then rises again to Nottingham Road.
St John's Church

Not far down Nottingham Road from St John's Road is St John's Church and is seen here from Cavendish Road.
St Norbert Drive

Our tour of Ilkeston for the next saint took us to Kirk Hallam and this view of St Norbert Drive.

All Saints Church

We could of course have taken photos on the way to Kirk Hallam of the St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy (a primary school) and also Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy (a secondary school) in Kirk Hallam. Opting against taking photos of schools the tour ended at Kirk Hallam Church - it's dedicated to All Saints.
