Motorcycle Day

It was last weekend that the Erewash Museum staged one of its annual events - the Motorcycle Day.
All In A Row

Bikes of all makes and sizes were on display in the forecourt and all around the museum.
Mingling

Members of the public mingled with the bikers to view and talk about the models and memories the machines evoked.
Tulips

The setting in the museum grounds with tulips in the flower beds only served to enhance the day.
Royal Garden Party

Seven days later the flowers had been removed in readiness for the summer bedding but the museum had been decked with bunting to celebrate the Royal Wedding and a Garden Party was scheduled to take place in the afternoon following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage.
Bunting

Bunting lined the way into the museum.
Bubbles

Bubbles were blown across the path to the museum's lawn where there were a number of stalls, amusements and games like "Under the Parachute" to keep everyone entertained.
Lawn

Some people had brought picnics while others were content to just sit on the lawn in the sun and enjoy their surroundings.
Activities

You could play games like Smack the Rat or Spin a Wheel or indulge in craft activities decorating hats and making flowers with coloured papers and drinking straws.
Wedding Photo

You could even take the place of Prince Harry and Meghan for the wedding photo but this bride appeared quite shy and her face remained hidden!

So Motor Bikes last week, a Garden Party this week and next Saturday, the museum will be holding a "Roaring Twenties" themed event and there's still the "Swing Back To The Forties" day to come in June.
