Dale Abbey - The Village
w/e 24 February 2002

Early crocuses in Dale Village.

The Manor House and Abbey Cottage.

It was too muddy to get much closer to the ruins of Dale Abbey so I shall have to return at a later date.

Despite the sunshine there was a cold wind blowing but this horse was wrapped up well to protect against the cold temperatures. The thermometer was showing 4C but the biting northerly wind made it feel much colder. The horse was a little reticent about being photographed and tried to hide behind the gate post.....

.... until food in the form of hay hanging from the tree proved too big a temptation.

Food (and drink) for human consumption is also available at the nearby village pub - the ivy covered Carpenters Arms.
