A full programme of musical acts was planned between midday and
9:00pm primarily at the instigation of Ilkeston Life editor Paul
Opiah who was ably supported throughout the day by a number of
volunteers.
|

Paul was on stage for the official opening just before noon with
the Deputy Mayor of Erewash.
|

Refreshments were available from several stores and burgers,
pizzas drinks and fries were among the offerings.
|

A line of stalls on the Lower Market Place featured arts and
crafts.
|

Among the stalls, Anhelina Aleksandrova was offering "watercolours,
graphics, sculptures and portraits of you or your pet to order".
|

Other arts and crafts, fresh and dried flowers were also available
together with official merchandise from local traders Purplehaze's
Parlour.
|

There were also a couple of fairground rides to keep the customers
entertained.
|

After a final sound check by the gentleman left of centre, the
music started.

The first group on stage was the Folks Music Group.
|

They were followed by The Soulmates Family and more acts followed
on the main stage all the way through the day. Other acts also
entertained in the local pubs and the Appalachian Dance Team
