Ilkeston - Car Show

The "Car Show", actually the annual Heritage and Classic Vehicle Show, returned to the Market Place on Sunday 10th August 2025 where another large selection of assorted vehicles was on display to delight the huge number of people that turned out to enjoy the event in the fine weather.. There were classics of the past in the form of old cars.

There were new cars, classics of the future.

There were sports cars - just classics!

The event wasn't just on the Market Place. It spread to Pimlico too where there were lorries on the car park at the side of the Scala cinema.

The side of the Scala also provided the backdrop to a selection of tractors.

Back on the Market Place there was a line of military vehicles leading from the Town Hall towards Bath Street.

And around the Cenotaph stood a variety of motorbikes.

Four double-deckers were parked facing the cenotaph too, reminiscent of days long gone when they regularly parked on the Market Place prior to pedestrianisation, but I doubt that in those days the destination sign read "Ilson Market".

There were more buses on Wharncliffe Road together with a number of steam powered engines.

Following last year's Flying Visit, the Spitfire returned to the Show and once again proved a big attraction.
