CRICH STAND The War Memorial of the Sherwood Foresters Regiment In Honoured Memory.	A trig point behind the monument proves a commanding viewpoint over Derbyshire.
	The view from the trig point over the National Tramway Museum to the rolling hills beyond.	The church spire in Crich is just visible in the middle distance from the foot of the monument.
	Looking back down the approach road to the village of Crich.	The memorial stands like an inland lighthouse 1000ft above sea level.
	It is said that, on a clear day, you can see eight counties from the hill at Crich Stand.	The Sir Horace Smith-Dorrien Memorial at the foot of the Stand.
The approach from the car park to the War Memorial is via a flight of steps and this pathway.	A Sherwood Forester of today pictured at Ilkeston Carnival, Saturday June 10th, 2000.....	..... and another from the war years. A veteran of Dunkirk and North Africa - but to me he was just Uncle Bill.
