Ilkeston Brass

Ilkeston Brass were on hand to play Christmas Carols and other festive songs when the seasonal lights were switched on in the Market Place.
Christmas Lights

Local shops stayed open late but most of the assembled crowd were more interested in the lights strung across the road. After all it is nearly a year since they last saw them!
Familiar Figure

A familiar figure was handing out early gifts of sweets and chocolate bars.
Victorian Market

At the "Victorian" market these ladies were raising funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Hot Chestnuts

Hot chestnuts helped keep out the cold.
Snowmen

Three Snowmen provided by the Faceless Company mingled with the crowd, estimated at about 8000, and added to the entertainment that also included fairground rides and a Punch and Judy Show.
