Ilkeston - Victoria
Park on St David's Day, 01 March 2002
w/e 03 March
2002
Pedestrians and drivers alike cannot have
failed to notice this week, the colourful displays in Victoria
Park Ilkeston where it fronts Bristol Road.
|
Fallen leaves from last Autumn
are apparent in this ground level shot but the purples, yellows
and whites of the flowers are the features that really catch
the eye.
|
Recent high winds have brought
many twigs and small branches down from the trees to lie among
the crocus carpet.
|
Blossom on a purple leaved
plum tree is also doing its bit to brighten the spirits as Spring
approaches.
|
And being St David's Day it
is only right that I include this image of some daffodils still
in bud but they too will soon be adding more colour to the park.
|
Final shot for this week is
my attempt at being artistic - the bark and a knot hole in a
silver birch tree against a soft focus parkland backdrop. OK
some you win and some you lose, I'll let you make your own minds
up about this one.
