I was at crisis point this afternoon (Sunday) not only suffering with a severe case of writer's block but also having no idea about a photo for this spot. It was only when I remembered that the "beach" has returned to Nottingham's Old Market Square that I decided to look back to last year's event and select this image that didn't get an airing then.
Promoted this time as the Nottingham Riviera it promises to be bigger and better than ever and runs until September 5th. I suppose some time between now and then I shall be there pointing my camera in the hope of getting another selection of images despite their "No photographs unless taken by our official photographer" sign but today I'm just thankful that this one has got me out of a proverbial hole. Whoever decided on the policy to restrict the taking of photos is obviously not aware that anyone is free to take photographs in this country except where the law provides otherwise. See UK Photographers Rights.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
No matter how advanced your camera you still need to be responsible for getting it to the right place at the right time and pointing it in the right direction to get the photo you want.
